Bauhaus Series

Founded by Walter Gropius in 1919, the Bauhaus was a German art school that sought to reunite fine art with functional design to create objects both useful and beautiful. Students were trained across disciplines like cabinet making, weaving and painting under the philosophy of ‘Art into Industry’. This innovative approach soon became one of the most influential currents across modern design, art and architecture. Notable members in our collection include Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky, among others.

Collages

Collage is a technique defined by incorporating different elements into one single composition to form a new work of art. Collage has been around for centuries, and it was said to have first been used in 10th-century Japan by calligraphers.
